WELCOME

HELLO AND WELCOME TO WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING) AND CRYSTAL AND DAISY MAE’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE. Glad you are here and reading.

WHY WE ARE HERE

We are here because of the 9TH ANNUAL PET BLOGGER CHALLENGE. Why look back on the previous year(2018)? I think that if we do that we can not only usher 2018 out properly but look on what good we accomplished for the animals. I ask you to join us for the PET BLOGGER CHALLENGE. To learn more you can go to GO PET FRIENDLY . The PET BLOGGER CHALLENGE goes through January 20-26. If you would like to read, compare or both my post for the PET BLOGGER CHALLENGE can be found by clicking HERE. Do check last year’s post out. Now onto answer some questions so you can learn a little bit about me and my blogs but first a BRIEF LOOK BACK ON 2018.

LOOKING BACK ON 2018

As I look back on the year 2018, I find that like any blogger I had ups and downs on my blogs. I was on CRYSTAL AND DAISY MAE’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE more than WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING) since I had some personal issues I had to take care but hope to be on it more in 2019. Now let’s get to those questions.

QUESTIONS FOR THE PET BLOGGER CHALLENGE

1.) For those who may be visiting your blog for the first time, how long have you been blogging and what’s your main topic? I have been blogging for 2 years with WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING)(January 2017) and almost 2 years for CRYSTAL AND DAISY MAE’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE(April 2017). My main topic is Animals but I also like to talk about Country Living, Family, Poetry and so much more.

2.) What was your proudest blogging moment of 2018? Reaching my 2 year blogiversary on WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING)(January 2017 – 2019) and my 2nd year blogiversary on CRYSTAL AND DAISY MAE’S SITE(APRIL 2017 – 2019). OK, it runs into 2019 but not very much.

3.) What was the biggest blogging challenge you faced in 2018, how did/will you tackle it? My biggest blogging challenge was dealing with some personal issues and I didn’t blog as much. However, I tried to post at least once a week on at least one of my blogs.

4.) Which of your 2018 blog posts was your favorite and why? I had trouble picking which posts were my favorite so I just chose one. As it happens it comes from CRYSTAL AND DAISY MAE’S PHOTO-BLOGGING SITE. The post is called Friendly Fill – Ins. The link is FRIENDLY FILL – INS . Why? It’s fun and I got good results. specifically, I got 21 comments and 14 likes.

5.) Which of your 2018 posts was most popular with your audience? Why do you think it does so well? Since I took my favorite post from my other site I took the post from my other site. One of my posts that did so well was DAISY MAE’S CAT QUOTES. Why did it do so well? I think it’s because my readers like animals and cats and could relate to the quotes when they read them.

6.) Did you implemented a new series, feature, or practice on your blog in 2018 that you’re enjoying? YES. I do more blog hop posts which are fun, I go to blogs that have blog parties or meet & greets,  I’m checking and double checking All comments and I enabled comment moderation on WordPress.

7.) As the social media landscape changes, how are you promoting your blog posts and connecting with new readers? I’m currently on Google+ and LinkedIn. I’m. I also have all the WordPress sharing buttons so Others and myself can share. I’m attending more blog hops which gets me in touch with other readers. I also try to attend blog parties too.

8.) Looking forward to 2019, if you accomplish only one thing through your blog, what do you hope it is? Learning how to code. I tried in 2017 and 2018 with no luck.

9.) What steps are you planning to take to ensure you reach your goal? Keep Trying.

10.) Now it’s your turn! How can we help? Is there an area where you could use some advice,or an aspect of your blog you’d like input on? Coding, How to get guest authors to write posts after they accepted(not the ones who accepted but then contacted you with a reason they couldn’t do it). All SEO.

  1. Thanks so much for joining the Pet Blogger Challenge, Crystal! I have no advice on coding – I’m terrible at it. But I will say that if someone offers to do a guest post for you and then doesn’t deliver it, you’re probably better off. If the person isn’t dedicated enough to follow through on their commitment, the quality of their post probably wouldn’t have measured up anyway.

Wishing you the best of luck in 2019!

      1. Kittens!!! We get peeps botherin’ us wantin’ to guest post all the time. Mommy ignores most of them cuz all they want is to link their site with ours and reap all the furiends we’ve made. And, most of ’em don’t even visit our blog or read what it’s ’bout befur contactin’ us and sayin’ stupid stuff like they know our readers would enjy their articles ’bout things like decoratin’, since we post ’bout those same things. Uh, no, we don’t?. You’re much better off postin’ your own content and not somepawdy else’s junk. Big hugs

  3. Congrats on two years of blogging!

Participating in blog hops and parties is a great idea. When I ran a book review site, they were so instrumental in helping get my blog recognized and in connecting with others.

What do you accomplish with coding? I do basically stuff but otherwise am happy to let WordPress take care of it.

What kind of guest posts are you looking for? This is my first year of swapping ones. It’s a new adventure!

    All the best in 2019!

  4. Hi!
Looking forward to this 2019 blogging challenge.

My question, what is the aim with guest posts? I feel like your own content would be great .. but when i think of guest posts, it’s more other people you personally interact with on other blogs

I just started blogging late 2018 but found that wordpress.org was more flexible with what I wanted to do in terms of “coding” so i just migrated over 😀

  5. Congrats on your two year anniversary. I’ve had several people invite me to guest post but I haven’t written one yet. I think it’s hard to write a guest post because I’m worried that it won’t fit with the blog when I do but also between Cactus Haiku and Cactus Catz I have a hard time keeping up with adding my own posts. Like you I saw the advice you should guest post for other people and invite guest posts but it seems hard. Didn’t you write a guest post for another blog? How has writing guest posts turned out for you?

    1. I did write a guest a post for another blog. What I did was something simple and on my experience. Before I wrote the post, I asked the blog owner if the post I was writing OK. When he said it was I went ahead and
wrote on flea and ticks and what flea and tick collar I switched to. The post did very well. I’ve written for other blogs. Seems to work out good for them but for some reason not so well for me. However, I do appreciate the ones who have written on my blog. If you ever write a guest post for me, the best way to gauge if it will fit if it has anything to do with animals, poetry, keep it clean, nothing political or you can just do photos. right now I writing my first book. Thanks for your comment.😺😺😺😺>””””<😺😺😺😺🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
