A Strange Funeral

We all go to funerals in our lives for our family and friends. We also hope and pray that our children don’t die before us but life doesn’t always happen that way.

I just recently went to a funeral since my Aunt died. This funeral was like no other. The funeral was held in the  dark since there was no electric. Toward the end of the end of the funeral and before the luncheon the lights came back on. The food had to heated up elsewhere. When I asked my parents why there was no electricity? They said, the power company had scheduled a power outage during the time of the funeral. When you don’t know it’s scheduled, it is really strange and weird.

What’s the strangest funeral you’ve been to? What’s the strangest thing that has ever happened to you? Let me know.

  1. I have been very fortunate and not had to attend a lot of funerals. However, all of my family is in their late 70’s up to 90! I am so glad I never had to attend a funeral for a child, I don’t think I could have handled that. So I have no answer for you as to the strangest funeral. That must have been so strange to have a funeral in the dark!

  2. Oh Kittens!!! Sorry fur your loss. Mommy doesn’t really care fur funerals and only goes to those she has to play or sing at or family. She doesn’t really recall anythin’ strange happenin’ at any of them. Certainly none were held in the dark. Big hugs

  3. Hi Crystal, This was kind of strange, but also really touching. I was at the funeral of a friends son and he had been really into screamer rock music. They played one of the songs in his memory. Can I just say shocking but sweet?

      1. It sure was a huge surprise when electricity went. started with electricity then none then just as we were getting ready to eat after the funeral the lights came back on. Food had to be heated up and cooked elsewhere.
