Today is Day is Day 18 of Blogmas which means tomorrow at 11:30 PM Eastern Time, I will turn 50. Am I excited? you bet I am.Β I’m sure some of you thought I might be depressed. I’m not, I’m excited.
I have been on a personal countdown for more than a month. Having a birthday is fun and for those of you who hate birthdays well a birthday is just a number. In fact, a friend who I used to work with always told me starting at 50 she considered it years young not old plus she took her age and subtracted 1 year each time she had a birthday. Interesting isn’t it?
I may be turning 50 tomorrow but I’m celebrating all month. I wrote a previous post about the Birthday party and you can find it by going toΒ An Invitation To My Month-Long Birthday Party.

Writing this blog brings back so many memories for me and hope it does for you too. When I graduated, it was in May mostly. You see my graduation ceremonies went something like this: Elementary School or K-6(No Graduation Ceremony), Highshool(A May Graduation), A 2 Year College(Got My Diploma In December of 1989 and went to the graduation ceremony in May) but could have skipped the May graduation ceremony in May since I already had my diploma. I felt since I worked so hard to Β accomplished a diploma, I wanted to go through the graduation ceremony. I also had a 4 Year College(A May Graduation). Β It may have been a lot of work but was well worth it.
Graduation is a time for every student to reflect back on what they’ve worked for and to be proud of what they accomplished whether they ended up graduating with honors or not. Β Also, most students celebrate by having a graduation party in May or early April.
The following is only one memory of my graduation and there are more memories also but memory listed below is a memory that stood out to me.
I know I was excited and proud of what I accomplished. I think I felt this way because I had people tell me I couldn’t accomplish going to college and when I went to a 4 year college, I had professors telling me I couldn’t do it. However, I have to give the one professor credit because he eventually came back and told me he was proud of what I accomplished.
So whether you’ve graduated or are about to graduate, remember graduation is a time to look forward to and to celebrate what you’ve worked so hard to accomplish-a diploma and/or a degree. You’ll also find it a time to decide what college you’re going to or decide if you’re going on for a graduate degree.
πCongratulations if you worked hard to earn yourself a diploma and/or a degree.π
If you don’t have a degree or a highschool diploma, I urge you to either complete highschool or get your GED.
ππCongratulations to the Class Of 2017 ππ
My niece graduated from highschool already and pictures below show the some of the memories we shared with her.

In my opinion, when we celebrate Easter we normally celebrate by talking about the Easter Bunny a lot more than the real reason why we should celebrate Easter. What is the real reason we celebrate Easter? The answer to that question is the Resurrection of Christ.
However, if you wish to celebrate by talking about the Easter Bunny that’s ok just don’t overdo it.
One year on Easter Sunday, I went with my Mom and Dad up to my sister’s church and the children’s sermon proved to be interesting. Let Me try to explain. The pastor explained to the young children that when we celebrate Easter, we can celebrate both the Easter Bunny and the Resurrection of Christ when we celebrate Easter. He did it in two parts, the first part was about the Easter Bunny and the second part was on the Resurrection of Christ.
The pastor explained to the kids that they could celebrate and have fun finding their Easter baskets the Easter Bunny left them but be sure to remember the real reason we’re celebrating and that is the Resurrection of Christ. He also reminded the children when they talked about the Easter Bunny to overdo it. What a children’s sermon.
If you have kids of your own, always remember there is nothing wrong with letting them hear a little bit about the Easter Bunny or letting them find baskets that the Easter Bunny brought them. Just find some way to incorporate the story and meaning of the Resurrection of Christ.
There are several links and images about theΒ Resurrection of ChristΒ for you to look at and there are several links and images for the history and story of theΒ Easter Bunny. Β I do hope you look at some links from both categories.
HAPPY EASTER TO YOU ALL AND I HOPE YOU HAVE FUN CELEBRATING IT WITH YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
