My 1st No Sew Blanket

Hi Everyone, did you miss me? I’ve been sick since before Christmas so that’s one of the reasons I didn’t post. I got this neat Christmas gift. It’s called a No Sew Blanket with the design Snowman with the words Let It Snow. So what exactly is a No Sew Blanket? It’s a craft kit that comes with 2 blankets and you attempt to understand the directions(my definition). It took my youngest sister’s family to literally show me what to do because the directions weren’t clear—no surprise there. Celebrating Veterans Day

If you celebrate Veterans Day, how do you celebrate? I celebrated Veterans Day by writing a poem thanking all Veteran’s and this Morning for the first time I watched my first naturalization ceremony coming live from Fox Square on Fox News. They swore in 12 new people who were becoming US Citizens. They said it was the first time they ever did a ceremony live. It was something to see. Although it did pose some questions after hearing the oath. You see the first thing you need to understand is all the people becoming US citizens today were in the service. The question I had here is how do you serve in service and you’re not a US citizen? Also, another question I had is everyone must show they know English unless exempt. Exempt??? Why would you need to be exempt knowing the English language if you’re becoming a US citizen and the US is now your loyalty? If you know please let me know. Thank You.

WHAT A PRETTY PICTURE IN THE FALL (2017).

Hi and Welcome Everyone, I’ve been doing a lot thinking and soul searching.  Then I thought you know I had a discussion with someone about Faith. We got to talking and this person said they never strayed from their faith. It didn’t click in at the time but after a while I got to thinking, if someone actually believes that and tells you they have never strayed from their faith well their is one thing you should know and that is they just strayed from their faith. Also you should know, everyone strays from their faith because there isn’t a perfect person on this earth. I wish you all the best.

Challenges & Dreams

Ever been challenged? Really challenged? I have. Whether you’ve been challenged in school, work, maybe you’ve started your own business or even better, you’ve written a book or books. No matter what your challenges are everyone has them. What do I mean? Well it’s quite simple actually. Life is one big challenge.

I don’t know about anyone else but I had challenges in school, work and now I purposely challenged myself to write a book just to see if I could. My result: I’ve written 1 book and have the second book written. After that, I’ll challenge myself to write a third book. As it happens my goal has gotten bigger to write my first book box set. I look forward to achieving this goal. 

So if you have a dream and you think it’s to big to achieve or your dream will never happen. Think again because dreams only happen if you want them to. Don’t worry about how big your dream is just go for it and you’ll be surprised at what you can achieve.

Encouragement from friends and family helps and a lot of prayer. That’s right I said prayer. Do you know how many times I used prayer to write my books — a lot. Take in from me, Prayer helps big time. USE IT!!

Death: My Experiences

Introduction

Hello and welcome to WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S  SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING). I’m so glad you are here and hope you enjoy what you read.

About Death

Death is a fact of life whether it be with humans or with animals.  Sadly we all will experience death at one point or the other. I have lived long enough to experience both human death and animal death. It’s amazing how humans and animals deal with death and go through the grieving process. Each person and animal takes their own time in grieving so there really is no set time that they’re done grieving. humans as well as animals will know when it’s time to move on.

Death: My Experiences – Humans

Like I said previously I lived to see human death. Between friends and family members dying it has been sad and in many cases it was a blessing that they died because they weren’t suffering anymore. But even so, I hated to see these people go.

Animals that are pets become part of family 99.9% of the time. Those that are outside all the the time or part of may or may not be part of the family. Any pets that we had were part of our family.

From the time I was a baby up to now I had all kinds of pets. We had dogs, a Chameleon, cats and other kinds of animals. We loved our animals and hated when they left us. My family and I have seen our pets (family) die naturally, had to have put them to sleep because they were in such bad shape and we have seen our pets die naturally too. We have even seen a pet die tragically ( not because of our fault or their fault).

What Did We Learn?

My family learned that a pet can die no matter what their age is and that when you go to rescue or adopt a pet, make sure the organization is reputable and they know what your doing. If you find after asking many questions that you know more than they do that should be your first red flag and go to a shelter or rescue organization that is reputable. Always get pet insurance, Get your pet microchipped at your vet so if your pet gets lost or taken they can get in touch with you easier, Always do your research before getting a pet and so much more you need to do before getting a pet.

In Conclusion

Sadly death will eventually come for all pets and humans that can’t be avoided. However, you the owner can make your pet’s life better and maybe even helping them live longer if you feed them right, make sure they’re not obese, give them lots of love and play with them. Playing with them helps them stay fit and somewhat vital. Whether it’s a dog or cat and their attention span is like my Daisy Mae’s, practically nil. However she plays pole and makes the circle from our TV room to back to the TV room again.

Animal Bites

WELCOME

Hello and Welcome Everyone. Today I would like talk about a pet subject we don’t often talk about. Don’t know what I’m talking about. The subject I’m talking about is Animal Bites. 

WHY I’M WRITING THIS ARTICLE

Why am I writing this article? Well… I’m writing this article so others know what to do and what not to do. I hope you can learn from these experiences. Whether it’s a Dog, Cat, Snake, Guinea Pig or some other animal you really need to be careful. One thing you need to do is be alert of your surroundings, your neighbor’s pets actions and your pet’s actions. 

What do I mean? Well let me tell you my experience then I will tell you about my friend’s experiences. First my experience. 

MY EXPERIENCE

2 or 3 years ago in the Spring/Summer I had decided to go for a short walk because the sun was shining and it was a gorgeous day. That gorgeous day turned into a bad day for me, 2 of of my neighbors and 5 cats.  Let me start from the beginning. As I said previously it was a gorgeous day. I had just started out on a short walk. To say the least, I didn’t get far. 2 sidewalk squares if I was lucky. Now when I go for a walk I always look around. I try to be alert of what’s around me. Now my one neighbor had at least one big dog. It looked liked a Black Lab. I had seen it before many times. I wasn’t even close to that house so I really didn’t worry. I was looking around when I saw 2 dogs going after my neighbor. I’m thankful someone was with him or he would’ve been on the ground. Once I saw both dogs out of the corner of my eye, they were up in front of me in no time. When the dog that I thought was a Pit-Bull Mix started going after me and trying to bite then eventually did bite me, I screamed bloody murder. How loud is that? Well both my parents were inside the house and I screamed so loud they heard me. When Dad came out and saw what was going on, he came and rescued me then once he was back up on the Front Porch he took a thick piece of wood to keep the dogs away from him. Please understand, he didn’t hit these dogs with the thick piece of wood. However, we eventually found out from my neighbor two doors down that he got bit on the ankle by the one dog. I think it was a Pit-Bull mix. Anyhow his one kid rescued him. How? I’m not exactly sure. I do know his wife took a picture of the injured ankle. 

I do know called the dog person. That was useless. So Dad Called the Police. That was useless too. The policeman we got was in “vacation mode”. He was getting ready to go on vacation. Of Course he didn’t get back to us. The woman he did get to talk to well she refused to tell him what to do. Which was probably good.

This happened on Labor Day or there about on Labor Day. Do you know what’s it like to see your Dad go outside to meet everyone and tell them they have to stay on the Front Porch or stay inside. My niece and her boyfriend at the time had enough respect to stay for awhile but not as long they would’ve. They left early.

What Happened

We tried to do something but got told since we had no pictures they could do nothing. Did they come for the dogs? OH they came. In fact, the policeman that came had the nerve to get the dogs in the back of the police car then turn around and tell us the dogs weren’t mean with him. Well of course not if you have treats. I wonder what would’ve happened if he didn’t have those treats. Later on we found out the person’s name(which I will not name) and that she was a veteran. She worked 3 jobs. One of those jobs was at a bar. Sadly, we also found out these dogs killed 5 cats.(4 kittens and mamma cat). Then we found out a few weeks later that these dogs got out again and almost killed a dog. The dog was severely injured.

What Have We Learned?

1.) Don’t make eye contact(peripheral or otherwise).

2.) You must take pictures of bite on you or have your doctor or nurse take the pictures.

3.) If you or your neighbors have kids to do something you must have proof(also in pictures).

4.) Police and dog person are more interested in cases that involve minors rather than adults.(At least that was the case with me).

5.) We found out to rescue someone you can use a gun(not recommended and always use as last resort).

How did I find this information out? I follow Basil’s Blog and get updates almost daily. When I read this before their main post, I was in shock and knew I had warn other bloggers. Basil’s Blog did provide the website and the site to check it is: Petzilia.

What you can do.  Ask them to take the content down but be forwarned, Basil’s Blog has tried that and were unsuccessful. Petzilia continued to steal content.  Good Luck getting your content to be taken down if it was stolen.

Goodreads Widget

Some of the blogs I follow have Goodreads widgets. I have read several books too and just added a Goodreads widget(that I’m thinking about deleting because it’s not working for me). Oh what a surprise!! I have contacted WordPress and they are trying to help but no luck. My books refuse to show. The widgets there but books won’t show.

Today I continued following some good blogs. Before I follow a blog I check out the title of the blog, The blog’s tagline, Some of the posts, Can I follow it from the WordPress Reader with a Follow Button and Etc… I have found some good blogs this way. Today was no different. I found a blog that had an interesting tagline. It provokes thinking and that’s good. What blog was that?  The blog I found today with the interesting tagline is Whosoever Will, May Come . The tagline that posed the interesting question went like this. It was Faithful Believers. Are There Any Left? This is a good tagline. I like it.

I would like to answer that question from the tagline on that blog. I realize our world is in a world of turmoil and just about everyone seems to be following Satan’s way not God’s way.  Well I have good news. There are a few Christians(AKA Faithful Believers) out there and we follow God one day at a time despite our troubles. This isn’t the only Christian blog out there are others.

I know you are not supposed to proud and haughty because it’s a sin. But the pride I have is because I can honestly say I’m a Christian and know where I’ll be going when I die. Do You?

WEBSITES REVIEWING OTHER WEBSITES…

INTRODUCTION

WARNING, WARNING!!!! Now that I got your attention let me welcome and say hello to everyone. Did you know there was a website that reviewed other websites to see if they were legit, to see how trustworthy they are, to check the reputation, to check the privacy, to check the safety and to check how safe it is for children. Then they give you a scorecard. 

WHO DOES THIS?

I found out that Google does this. 

 HOW DO I KNOW THIS?

I actually found this out by accident. You see one night I had put in to Cortana my WordPress Dashboard address and in the suggestions  this site popped up.  What is the site address that checks other sites? It is https://easycounter.com/report/ and the site you want to check. For example if I wanted to check WELCOME TO CRYSTAL’S SITE(ORIGINALLY COUNTRY LIVING), I would use http://easycounter.com/report/daisymae2017.wordpress.com to count the views and any other countable data for google searches. Yes I said Google searches. Can you believe they count Google searches?

WHAT ARE THE PROS OF KNOWING THIS?

The pros of knowing about this website are: 1.) You can check your website(s) or anyone else’s 2.) You can check the General Data of any website 3.) You can check any website’s Audience 4.) You can check any website’s Traffic Analysis 5.) You can check any website’s Subdomains 6.) You can check any website’s SEO Stats 7.) You can check any website’s Domain Data 8.) You can check any website’s Social data 9.) You can check any website’s Server Info and finally 10.) You can check any website’s Safety(this just shows how safe the website is).

WHAT ARE THE CONS OF KNOWING THIS?

In my opinion, I think what could be considered as Pros could also be considered Cons too. Why? I can answer that question in one word — PRIVACY.

IS WORDPRESS AWARE OF THIS SITE?

The answer to that is they are now. When I contacted WordPress and explained my situation, they told me they were surprised to find out that there were other websites that actually checked to see if your website was legit. I asked what can I do and they asked me with what WordPress features? I told them and they told me unless I upgrade to their Business Plan(which I don’t need at this time) that is where the plugins are at. I did find out that I wasn’t optimized with Google. They weren’t happy about that. Can’t please everyone.

WHAT DO I EXPECT YOU TO DO WITH THIS INFORMATION?
