A MERRY MEOWY CHRISTMAS

Daisy Mae In The Christmas Tree Box. This Was Christmas Time 2017.

Hello Everyone, Daisy Mae here and I’m excited. Today is Christmas Day and Day 25 Of Blogmas(which is the end of Blogmas.)  I tried to do a selfie for Christmas but as you see above that didn’t work out so well.

My Christmas went well. I got to be with my family. However despite being a very good kitty all year I didn’t get everything on my Christmas list. I guess Santa Paws  just couldn’t pull it off  or he ran out of room in his sleigh.

I asked Sister Crystal If I could help with today’s blog post since it’s Christmas Day. Can you believe my sister did a post a day? I guess small miracles do happen.

These last 24 days she’s been busy writing about different things that usually happen around Christmas and some things that might help you around this time of year. I thought it was time for me to give her some help. Isn’t that nice of me?

I told Sister Crystal I would write the blog post today and give her Christmas off to relax.

This selfie worked out much better for me. I hope all you kitties and other animals got everything on your Christmas list. If you asked for a forever home well I really hope you got that. Every kitty and every animal deserves a forever home. I got my forever home over 11 years ago thanks to Sister Crystal and her family.

Why I Love Christmas: Blogmas – Day 23(Jesus Is The Reason For The Season!)

Jesus-is-the-Reason
Graphic Credit: healthylifebegins.com

WHY DO I LOVE CHRISTMAS?:

I don’t love Christmas because of all the gifts that are given each year but I love Christmas because of the one gift that was given to everyone on that one night very long ago when a baby boy was born in Bethlehem to the Virgin Mary.

I know it seems as a matter of fact but it’s true. I’m very happy for this gift and that I’ve been given the opportunity to accept it. In fact, Everyone has that opportunity and I hope you unwrap and accept this wonderful gift like I did. It’s a choice you have to make in this lifetime and I’m not telling you what to do. It means so much to me since made that choice.

WHAT IS CHRISTMAS REALLY ABOUT?:

Christmas is really about Jesus and his birth not the Christmas tree, The Christmas gifts, Online Shopping or Shopping in Department Stores. So children if you’re wondering still about that big, fat man in the red suit, I’ll tell you something you might be surprised at and that is Santa Claus does exist. He just takes a back seat to Jesus.

You see Jesus is the reason for the season. However Santa Claus lives in all of us. There used to be an actual Santa Claus. I wrote a post on that. It can be found at Merry Blogmas: Day 12 – Do You Believe In Santa Claus?(The History Of Santa Claus).

So when you’re unwrapping those gifts this Christmas, please remember JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON.

Merry Blogmas: Day 24 – Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

Santa-coming-to-town

Today is Blogmas – Day 24 and Christmas Eve. What’s so special about this day? Why Santa Clause comes to town.

Now If you are like me, you like to track Santa Claus. If you have children or grandchildren you’ll be most likely tracking Santa with the Santa Tracker. The best Santa tracker to use is probably NORAD, The Official Santa Tracker. The link is NORAD Tracks Santa – Official Site. Oh sure there are other Santa Tracker Sites but finding one as good as NORAD.

Personally, I love tracking Santa Claus. Why? I love see where he’s going, Where’s he’s been and how many gifts are delivered. I also love seeing how long it takes him to get from place to place. I’ve compared sites and they differ with their stats. Why? I don’t know. What Santa Tracker Site you choose is entirely up to you.

Merry Blogmas Everyone: Day 22 – The Legend Of The Candy Cane

candy-cane-legend1INTRODUCTION:

At Christmas time most of us have had a candy cane or two at time or another. But have any of you ever considered what the colors of the red and white candy cane means? I have so I did some research and found The Legend Of The Candy Cane.

WHAT I FOUND AND WHAT IT MEANS:

The Legend of the candy cane is an incredible legend that means so much to a lot of us. Why does it mean so much? I’ve found that since each person is different, each person has a different reason. Whatever your reason may be I hope you believe in the Legend Of The Candy Cane.

Merry Blogmas Everyone: Day 20 – The Day After My 50TH Birthday!!

yikrbXriE
Graphic Is By: clipartbest.com

Today is the day after my 50TH Birthday. The funny thing is that I don’t feel older even though I am. Being 50 years young is actually fun.

Any cards sent through the mail will be slow getting to me. Everyone knows how slow the mail is. For example, I live in a rural town with a small post office and if we send any bills to the next town or two you know what the silly post office does? Instead of send of sending it right to the town we want it to go it goes to a city Over 30 miles away and then it takes almost a month to its destination. I’m not kidding either.

Now that I am 50 I’m enjoying it while I can because it’s a milestone that depresses some people but not me.

What did I get for my birthday? My parents bought me a necklace that says something like True friends leave paw prints on your heart and they got me a computer(Christmas/Birthday gift). Other Birthday gifts haven’t arrived yet so probably won’t see them until Christmas Eve. More Birthday Gifts. Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy. If you think that phrase sounds familiar it’s because there used to be a show called “Ren and Stimpy”  that used it a lot.

If you haven’t seen my previous posts they can be found by going to An Invitation To My Month – Long Birthday Party and Countdown To My 50th Birthday: 1 Day To GoCountdown To My 50th Birthday: 1 Day To Go. Also you can go to 🎉🎆🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁Blogmas: Day 19 – It’s My 50th Birthday Today!! YEAH!!🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎉🎆or 🎉🎆🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁Blogmas: Day 19 – It’s My 50th Birthday Today!! YEAH!!🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎉🎆. If you want to read one of the last 2 links, right-click on it and you should be able to open in new window or new tab.

I would like to wish those who have December Birthdays a HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND MANY MORE.

Merry Blogmas Everyone: Day 15 – Should You Write Christmas Or Xmas?

img_2203
Graphic Credit: pierinareads.wordpress.com

INTRODUCTION:

Should You Write Christmas Or Xmas? Interesting question. Everyone has their own personal opinion about this question and I have mine. My opinion is that Christmas should be written out because when you write Xmas it’s like you’re getting rid of the main part of Christmas. Don’t get me wrong because I’m not going to tell you what you should do in fact that’s entirely up to you. It’s a choice you must make.

WHY YOU SHOULD WRITE OUT CHRISTMAS:

I’m sure there are a lot of people out don’t like to write out Christmas for whatever reason. Christmas should be written out of respect. Why? That’s simple. One night long ago a baby was born to the virgin Mary and that baby that was born was our savior.

WHY YOU SHOULD WRITE XMAS INSTEAD OF CHRISTMAS:

Honestly, I can’t think of a reason why anyone would write Christmas Xmas. It’s like you’re Xing out the real reason for Christmas.

CONCLUSION:

In conclusion, for those of you who don’t agree with me all I can say is I’m sorry you don’t but it’s a choice everyone must make in our lifetime.  Every choice has consequences whether they’re good or bad. I will always write Christmas out even if takes just a little more space and time. Christmas is that time of the year we should celebrate Jesus’ birthday.

Remember Christmas isn’t about the presents you get it’s about the gift we got one night long ago when a baby boy was born to the virgin Mary. One of the sayings I have at this time of the year is Jesus is the reason for the season.

Santa Claus
Graphic Credit: carrollbryant.blogspot.com

Do You Believe In Santa Claus? Is there even really a real person as Santa Claus? Interesting question isn’t it? So I decided to research this the history of Santa Claus. During my research of the history of Santa Claus I found out he is real. I put the links at the end of the post for you to look at and I have added a contact form for those who want to contact me by e-mail at the end of this post.

There comes a time as we all know that when you reach a certain age when you’re a kid, you either find out on your own that there is no Santa Claus or other kids tell you there is no Santa Claus. When a kid finds there is no Santa Claus it’s hard to tell how they will react. I remember my nieces kept telling their brother there is no Santa Claus. I proceeded to tell my nephew that there is a Santa Claus and I still believed in Santa Claus. Now my nephew is 15 years old and I don’t know what he believes now.

I learned at a very young age that Santa Claus is more than a big, fat man in a red suit with a white beard and red cap. When you hear Santa Claus isn’t real think about this, Santa Claus lives in all of us. You read right, Santa Claus lives in all of us and there really is a Santa Claus. Let me give you some examples and they are, people who work as a volunteer with animals, rescuing cats and dogs, fostering cats and dogs, supporting an organization that helps strangers and not being selfish at this time of year and all year round just to name a few.  So yes everyone there is a Santa Claus and  Santa Claus is real.

I have done some research online and found some articles on the legend of Santa Claus. Below are the links:

🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎁🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄Merry Blogmas: Day 9 – Finding And Buying A Christmas Gift That Is With Your Budget

christmas-gift-boxes-header
Graphic Credit: http://www.wordpressheaders.com

This is that wonderful time of the year that we buy gifts for our friends and family. We are willing to go out and join the hustle and bustle of the season just to buy the perfect gift. Now the hard part and that’s buying a gift within your budget.  It can be done and I figured out some ways to stay within your budget. I will list some ways that can help you and I know they work because I’ve tried them.

A lot of us buy online instead of in store now days mostly for convenience sake and that is all well and good but have you ever compared the prices online to the in store prices? I have and most of the time I found that in store prices were lower. Yes I’m taking in consideration of coupons too. You see a lot of times when buying online whether it be  on “Black Friday” or Sometime Else, the prices will be different. Sure they’re supposed to be lower on “Black Friday” but are they really?  For Example, you go online find an item you want to give someone then you find the same item on the same site an hour or so later for a lower price. Even worse you find out you could have bought the same item in store for a way lower price than for what you paid. Has this ever happened to you. Let me know in the comments or by using the contact form at the end of the post. Now onto my tips for staying within your budget.

11 TIPS TO GIVE NICE CHRISTMAS GIFTS WHEN YOU’RE ON A BUDGET

  1. Write Down The People And/Or Animals You Want To Give Gifts To.
  2. Figure Out A Reasonable Base Price For Each Person And Don’t Go Over It.
  3. Find Something The Person Will Really Like That Is Within Your Budget.
  4. If You Find That You Might Be Going Over Budget Change Your Gift(there is Nothing Wrong With Changing Your Gift).
  5. If You Find Everything You Want To Buy Is Over Your Budget Then You Can Make A Gift For Your People Who You Are Giving To If You’re A Crafty Person.
  6. Remember It’s The Thought That Counts Not How Much Money You Spend.
  7. After You Found Gifts on Your Budget For The People And/Or Animals, Now The Waiting Begins To Get The Gifts If You Ordered them. If Not, You Can Start Wrapping If You Please.
  8. If You Found Only Some Of Your Gifts-No Problem. I Am Sure You Will Keep Looking Till All Gifts Are Bought.
  9. Another Thing I Do Each Year And Have Found It Helpful Is I Write Down On Index Cards Or A Note Pad The Names Of People And/Or Animals I’m Giving A Gift To, What Their Gift Or Gifts Are, Have I Ordered Or Bought Them And Finally Whether Or Not I Got Them. If I Haven’t Got Them I Don’t Write Anything Down.
  10. Animals Mean A Lot To Us So Like People We Over Spend. Set A Set Price For Your Cat Or Dog. Yes I Said Set A Price For Your Pet. If there Is A Pet Carrier, A Scratching Post Or A Cage For Your Dog Set It At A Price You Can Afford. Your Pet Might Get That Perfect Gift From You/Santa Paws After All.
  11. After Getting All Your Gifts Hopefully On Budget too, You’re ready To Start Your Christmas Wrapping. Don’t Wait To The Last Minute.

When I buy for my family of 11+people, I have to follow these tips. Only problem is I always go over budget with my Mom and Dad but everybody else I stay within my budget.

Now the next 2 sections will be about Cats and Dogs.

Merry Blogmas: Day 5 – What Is It Like To Work Retail During The Christmas Season?

blogmas-day-5
Graphic Credit: thegirlwhoreadtoomuch.wordpress.com

I’m excited, I only have 20 days to go until Merry Blogmas ends for 2017. ☹☹ I’m happy I made it this far and if you’re participating and I know some of you are you should be happy you made it this far so give yourself an atta girl or atta boy.

I decided to write on What’s It Like To Work Retail For The Christmas Season?

You see for 18 Christmas Seasons I worked during Christmas. No it wasn’t seasonal work either. I either worked full-time, part-time or part-time but worked full-time hours. I saw 18 Christmas Seasons go by until the store closed their doors in January of 2015. The stories I could tell you.

In fact, right after I started working retail I had this mother and her kids. She told me that they were on their way to the airport. She got mad at me when I told her she needed her receipt to return her items. She wasn’t happy she had to wait in line. Due to the fact it was the Christmas season there were a lot of people in line which didn’t make this woman happy either. She didn’t have the Christmas spirit despite our Christmas music and Christmas displays. She eventually went and got her receipt but it was unreadable because her one kid vomited on the receipt. She did pay cash but it went to the manager’s desk and the result is unknown. Every Christmas there was at least one Story if not more.

In the Same Christmas Season I had this elderly woman who wanted me to be her personal shopper. Had I done it for her before? Yes when it wasn’t as busy. However, this particular day it was not only busy but there were people waiting in line before her. What did I do? I took her aside and explained she had to wait her turn in line like the others and I would take care of her when it was her turn. The result? She was not happy. I asked my boss if what I did was the right thing to do and she agreed with me and she needed put in her place.

Each Christmas season the men would wait to the 23rd or 24th of December to do their shopping. They would come in and say to me she’s about your height and weight and money is no object. The result? I would take them to the most expensive sweater and show them the size I would buy if I were buying the sweater and they always walked away happy. It gave me the satisfaction to know I helped them find a Christmas gift. This happened every Christmas season. What I had to look forward to!!

Merry Blogmas Everyone: Day 4 – The Supermoon, Frost Moon, Harvest Moon Or Yule Moon

What Is A Supermoon?:

It’s the last full moon that occurred on December 3rd, 2017. It also is the last Supermoon or yule moon of 2017.

What Is The Supermoon Also called?:

The Supermoon is also called a Yule Moon, A Harvest moon and A Frost Moon. To learn how the moon got these names click on the link below. I suggest you do it’s interesting.

When Does The Supermoon Or Yule Moon Happen?:

The Supermoon or yule happens when the moon is closest to the earth and this time it will appear for 3 days (Friday to Monday).

How Large Will The Supermoon Be And How Bright Will The Supermoon Be?:

The full moon or Supermoon will be a mere 492 km (306 miles) away from Earth, making it appear 13.6% larger in diameter and 29% larger in the area. It will also appear 7% more intense and brighter because the Earth will be closest to the sun.

What Was It Like To Witness The Supermoon or Yule Moon?:

It was an awesome sight. It was not only beautiful but bright too. It was framed or surrounded with colors of pinks, reds, greens, blues and yellows. So pretty to witness. It could have been a beacon in the sky it was so bright. I took pictures from 3 different angles. One on Zoom, One on Medium Zoom and One from far away.

Conclusion:

It was a beautiful, bright moon framed in color. How appropriate, a colorful frame for a big and bright moon that shined like beacon in the sky. Also if you get the chance, click on the provided link and read about the Yule moon and how it got it name. The history behind it is interesting. I really hope you click on the link to read it. You’ll see pictures of the moon that appeared on December 3, 2017 above.

🎄🎄🎄🎁🎁🎄🎄🎄’Merry Blogmas’ Everyone: Day 1-Putting Up The CHRISTMAS Tree🎄🎄🎄🎁🎁🎄🎄🎄

Daisy Mae and Sister Crystal here and we would like to welcome you to our first ‘Merry Blogmas’ post. Just heard about it so my Day 1 is a day late. Whoops sorry about that.

You see when Sister Crystal told me about this ‘Merry Blogmas’ thing and because this is our first year blogging we thought we’d try it out.  I’m really excited about this ‘Merry Blogmas’ posting mostly because we just love Christmas and Sister Crystal’s birthday is near Christmas. If you want to go to her month-long birthday you can go to this link and it will take you there. The post link is: My Month-Long Birthday Party . Now back to my ‘Merry Blogmas’ post.

What to write about is what we thought about next. We decided on putting up the Christmas tree.

I got to help put the Christmas tree up and make sure the Christmas tree skirt was soft enough. I tried out the Christmas tree box and layed on the snowman tree skirt. It was not only soft enough but it was cute too. I left the Christmas decorations alone like a good little kitty. Below is a picture of me trying the Christmas tree box out and a picture of our Christmas tree all lit up. Sister Crystal, Mom and Dad put up the tree. They actually cheated. How? They put up a pre-lit tree to save time and put pretty and handmade decorations on the tree. It looks so pretty especially when lit.
