My 1st No Sew Blanket

Hi Everyone, did you miss me? I’ve been sick since before Christmas so that’s one of the reasons I didn’t post. I got this neat Christmas gift. It’s called a No Sew Blanket with the design Snowman with the words Let It Snow. So what exactly is a No Sew Blanket? It’s a craft kit that comes with 2 blankets and you attempt to understand the directions(my definition). It took my youngest sister’s family to literally show me what to do because the directions weren’t clear—no surprise there. OK, I was frustrated enough already when I found out I couldn’t get into my computer for my e-mail. As it turns out my provider was have an issue with the e-mail and was working toward fixing it. Apparently there had been several calls to my provider because they made a recording about it. when I finally was able to get into my computer  I got a nice surprise. My surprise was that I found I had been nominated for The Sunshine Blogger Award by Perditas Pursuits from Tinsel And Treasure . I’m so grateful for this nomination. 1. What is your daily work and how did you get into it? I’m unemployed at the present time. However, I worked for 18 years as a Retail Associate until the store closed for good.

7. Describe your ideal day out? My ideal day out would be to eat out and do some shopping. I like to shop.

I’m just going to a list a few.  First, I don’t like how they make you sign into see the full view of what you’re viewing, I don’t like how they cover up most of the page with their ads like they don’t want you to see what’s on the page unless you’ve got an account.
9. What is your favourite meal to eat ‘out’? This may seem simple but my favorite meal is Hot Wings I like to order unless I’m somewhere that doesn’t have Hot Wings on the menu.

The Smart Girl’s Guide to Surviving Her Twenties Book Review

INTRODUCTION:

Around My Birthday and Christmastime, I was fortunate to win a book by Courtney Livingston called The Smart Girl’s Guide to Surviving Her Twenties.  Now I can only imagine what you all must be thinking. Why would a 50-year-old want to read a book that is mostly geared toward the people in their twenties? Interesting question which deserves an interesting answer. I wondered the same thing until I started reading the book. Despite the book’s title this book is for everyone not just twenty year olds.

WHAT I THOUGHT OF THE BOOK:

This book was in my opinion fantastic. It was not only geared for our young people in their twenties but the points and ideas that were made could be used by everyone. The ideas about health, exercising, finances and much, much more. I found the book interesting and helpful to all who read it.

IS THE TILE RIGHT FOR THE BOOK?:

I will answer this question with a yes. Why is it right? I think the title is right even though this book applies to everyone the title The Smart Girl’s Guide to Surviving Her Twenties is right in my opinion because when you start young like in your twenties it help you continue the habits when you get older.

WHO SHOULD READ THIS BOOK?:

That’s an easy question. Anyone who can read.

1. Why Did You Start Blogging? I started blogging because out of curiosity and it looked like fun. I had so much fun that I started a second blog 3 or 4 months later.
2. Who is Your Favourite Blogger? Don’t really have any. However, I follow a lot of good animal blogs for example McGuffy’s Reader, 15 and Meowing, Crotchety Cougars, Cat Chat With Caren and Cody and plenty more.
3. What Keeps You Going And Motivated? There’s only a few shows on television I like and when you have only 1 television you go with the flow or do something else.
4. Which Is Your Weirdest Habit? Interesting Question. I’d say my weirdest habit is cleaning off my desk once a week. I have my own way I like to keep things organized.
5. What Is Your Favourite Cuisine? That would be Hot Wings.
6. What Is Your That Personality Trait Which You Would Like To Change In Yourself? Not sure what this question is asking.
7. What Are The First Three Things You Always Notice In A Person?  Are they always on their phone, Their temperament and are they always ‘tooting’ their own horn.
8. Which Is The Best book You Have Read Till Date? The Bible.
9. How Do You Deal With The Negative Comments Of The People About Your Appearance Or Anything Else? When People tell me I can’t do something, It helps me do it more. I must admit though I’m not always calm. Being Calm in your reactions is tough but it can be done.
10. What Is The Meaning Of Your Name? I have seen different meanings for my name. I have seen my name means brilliant. However, I have seen other meanings too.
11. What Is Your Goal In Life? My goal in Life is to go to Ireland and own or co-own my own business. At my stage in life though I don’t know if I’ll make it.

• What do you want your life to look like over ten years? 

In 10 years I want to be married or at least engaged. I want to own my own business or at least be co-owners with someone else. I want to be able to make my own schedule so I can be with my family and cat.

• What do you want to ask to the future you?

Oh Wow! I think I would have a lot of questions I would want to ask. Some of my questions would probably be: Did I get married? Who did I marry? What’s he like? Did I ever get to own or co-own my own business. Did I retire or get a job? Did I ever master computers? Did I ever master blogging and the technical side of blogging? Did I ever get a chance to meet some of my blogger friends? There are so many questions I have. Did I reach my short-term goals?

• What do you want to have her remember?

I want to have her remember that I liked blogging, I wanted to own or co-own my own business and that I’m proud of ALL my nieces and nephew.

• Where do you think she’ll live?

I think she’ll live in a castle somewhere in Ireland.

Love Is

Another one of those weeks where I racked my brain on what to do for Positive Sparks Monday then wouldn’t you know it, it came to me or should I say the words came to me little by little until they just poured out.

Then I thought would my poem Love Is be a good Positive Spark. My answer came to me right away and that little voice kept saying was of course your poem will work because how much more positive can you get than love.

So this week my Positive Spark is on Love. 

Love Is

Love is a Mother and/or Father telling their children things will be alright when they aren’t sure themselves~Love is a parent cleaning and putting a band-aid on their child’s scrapes and then they kiss them on the forehead making things all better~Love is helping the elderly in the wintertime~Love is helping someone without expecting anything in return~Love is helping someone not as fortunate as you~Love is respecting the flag~Love is the compassion of a cat or dog~Love is a true friend~Love is someone willing to die for you and I to give us our freedom~Love is a mentor~Love is a Grandma giving you chocolate chip cookies~Love is having someone to talk to who is willing to listen and understands your problem~Love is a hug~love is a stuffed animal that can’t talk back to you.

So when you come across someone who needs your help, give them some love by helping them and/or just listen to them instead of walking on by.  Why? Please read the Bible verses below. That’s right, I said Bible verses. Trust me they are very helpful. The passage below is sometimes used for weddings.  A passage that was on a bookmark for my sister and brother-in-law’s wedding when they were married in April of 1992. 

Love…

is patient and kind;

love is not jealous,

or conceited, or proud,

or provoked;

love does not keep

a record of wrongs;
